In line with its commitment to responsive, innovative, and people-centered governance, the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) of the Municipality of New Lucena successfully conducted the "Suyod Negosyo" Barangay-Based Registration of Businesses from September 8 to 29, 2025, bringing business registration and regulatory services directly to communities across the municipality.

                      

     Led by BPLO Head Lerma A. Alibugha and the BPLO staff, the initiative was carried out in partnership with the Municipal Engineering Office, represented by Engr. Kenneth Sudayan, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Inspection Officer, the Municipal Sanitary Inspector, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) representative, and the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO). The inter-agency team visited barangays throughout New Lucena, transforming barangay halls into temporary One-Stop Shops where business owners could conveniently register their enterprises and comply with government requirements.

     The activity enabled entrepreneurs to process business registrations, secure the necessary inspections, receive guidance on regulatory requirements, and access technical assistance without having to travel to the Municipal Hall. This significantly reduced transportation costs, waiting time, and administrative burdens, particularly for micro and small business owners operating within the barangays.

    The photos captured during the month-long activity reflect the strong collaboration among national government agencies, municipal offices, barangay officials, and local entrepreneurs. Business owners were warmly welcomed by the Suyod Negosyo team, who provided personalized assistance and facilitated the smooth processing of applications in a friendly and efficient environment.

     More than a registration campaign, Suyod Negosyo embodies the Municipality's commitment to the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act (Republic Act No. 11032) by making public services more accessible, transparent, and citizen-centered. The initiative also supports the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), strengthens regulatory compliance, expands the municipality's local business database, and contributes to increased local revenues that fund essential public services.

                      

     Through collaborative initiatives such as Suyod Negosyo, the Municipality of New Lucena continues to build a more business-friendly environment—one that empowers entrepreneurs, encourages investment, and promotes inclusive and sustainable local economic development. The success of the program demonstrates that when government services are brought closer to the people, communities thrive and businesses flourish.
