Last July 14, the New Lucena Football Field came alive with energy, skill, and unity as we held the 4th Fire Olympics 2026 in observance of National Disaster Resilience Month! Organized by the Bureau of Fire Protection – New Lucena Fire Station under Acting Municipal Fire Marshal SFO4 Joemarie T. Sangrines, this activity turned fire safety learning into an exciting display of teamwork and preparedness.

The program opened with remarks emphasizing that safety is everyone’s duty. We were also honored by messages from Acting Provincial Fire Marshal FSUPT Melanie G. Habawel and Municipal Mayor Hon. Atty. Carl Vincent G. Mondejar, CPA, who both reaffirmed their commitment to building a disaster-resilient New Lucena.

Teams from three categories joined the challenge: School Emergency Response Teams, Community Fire Auxiliary Groups, and Company Fire Brigades. They showcased their skills through rescue relays, hose handling, proper extinguisher use, and bucket brigade drills—proving that being ready can be both educational and engaging.
