Yesterday, July 28, 2026, starting promptly at 9:00 AM, our community gathered at Baganihan Hall, New Lucena, Iloilo for the grand culmination of Nutrition Month 2026, guided by the theme “Nutrisyon at Kalikasan Ating Pangalagaan!” Organized by the Municipal Health Office and LGU-New Lucena, the event united officials, health workers, families, and residents to celebrate healthy living and care for our environment.

The program opened with prayer, the national anthem, and the New Lucena March. Dr. Ma. Cristina S. Reala gave a warm welcome, sharing how the month-long campaign helped families learn practical, affordable healthy habits.

      We heard messages from Hon. Liecel Mondejar-Seville, Mayor Atty. Carl Vincent G. Mondejar, CPA, and Vice Mayor Hon. Isabelo M. Acollador. Guest speaker Dr. Wendel T. Marcelo explained how good nutrition and nature go hand in hand—choosing local produce protects both our health and our lands. The RHU team also led a lively dance and nutrition jingle!

       
     Highlights of the event is the cooking contest, nutri quiz bee, and awarding of winners. Supplemental feeding packs were given to beneficiaries, while Hon. Jocelyn P. Espia closed the event by reminding us health and nature are gifts we must protect together.
